Damion B. McDuffie, Sr., is a native Washingtonian and lifelong resident of the District of Columbia who grew up in Ward 5. Mr. McDuffie has dedicated his life and career to supporting DC residents and ensuring that their voices are heard. His passion for empowering District residents can be traced back to his many years of employment on the Hill for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), where he spent significant time focusing on responding to the concerns DC federal inmates housed within the Federal Bureau of Prisons and their family members. Damion continues his community focused work with the Mayor’s Office on Returning Citizens Affairs (MORCA), where he is currently MORCA’s Workforce Development Program Manager.
Mr. McDuffie earned his Bachelor of Art’s degree in Administration of Justice from the University of the District of Columbia. Damion lives in the Lamond-Riggs neighborhood of Ward 5 with his life partner Soraya and is the proud father of Samiyah and Damion McDuffie, Jr.
